We are delighted to welcome you to this interactive and evolving space of the West African Coastal Observatory (ORLOA). This platform has been designed to facilitate the exploration, management, and sharing of geospatial information related to the West African coastline.

It contributes to strengthening the resilience of coastal areas, relying on one of the key pillars of the WACA Program: the production and dissemination of knowledge.

The platform fulfills one of ORLOA's core missions: to provide reliable, harmonized, and accessible data to all stakeholders involved in coastal management.

It allows users to visualize, combine, and share geographic data covering all coastal states of West Africa, and even Central Africa, across a variety of themes.

The platform also integrates data from regional, continental, and international initiatives such as: the World Database on Protected Areas (UNEP-WCMC, IUCN), Africapolis, Digital Earth Africa, and more.

It also aims to popularize the three editions of the West African Coastal Master Plan (SDLAO) – 2011, 2016, and 2020.

We invite you to explore the data and maps and use the tools provided to support the sustainable development of our coastal region.
